I bought these to replace the real fire tikis that we put out every Halloween. We added more decorations this year, and wanted to add a safety factor so that the littles couldn't burn themselves. We also wanted to eliminate the hassle of refilling, lighting and blowing them out every night. These are perfect for that job!We weren't really concerned about how much light they throw since we are using them more for aesthetics, but they do illuminate about as much as a small tiki would. I was initially concerned that they would look too cartoony during the day when they weren't lit up, but they actually still look like its flaming, so it doesn't look awkward. They stay lit at night and are usually still lit when the hubby goes to work the next morning, so easily 12 hrs.All in all, I would highly recommend these and will definitely be buying more of these to go with next year's Halloween additions!
