This awning is working out great! My front door faces West, and when the sun starts setting, it shines directly on my front door making it so hot that it is hard to touch my door knob.. Putting together the awning was not that hard, but I would suggest watching the video on how to do it first. I would also suggest having two people put it together. The crank handle makes it easy to roll it up and down and once installed, the awning is very sturdy. However, the awning does not roll down so it is vertical, making it somewhat useless when the sun is about to set. To remedy that, I am purchasing a small tarp to attach to the bottom to act as a removable curtain so I have shade no matter what. . All in all, I am glad I bought it.
