I've purchased 12 of these chairs, most at two-hundred forty dollars a pair before a recent price increase. At that price, they get 5 Stars. Good looking and comfortable without cushions. Not flimsy. They've all been shipped to me in unpadded retail boxes, which is just plain dumb. Five of the 6 boxes had holes where the chair legs punched through the box during shipping. Two boxes arrived with the legs sticking out from the box 6 inches or more. Amazingly, 10 of the 12 chairs survived with no damage that couldn't be fixed with a little sandpaper. One lost a 1/4" x 1" x 2" chip at the foot of one leg, and one -- just one -- chair had a leg snap in half. Returned that chair to Amazon for prompt replacement. Here's how the Dublin chairs compare to Les Jardins Geodetek teak chairs at four times the price: The Dublins are a little less stylish, but about as well proportioned and comfortable. They're shorter and slightly narrower chairs, but still fine for someone 6 foot and 200 lbs. The Dublins use slightly thinner teak boards, and a mix of hard dark heartwood and lighter, softer sapwood, instead of all heartwood. Not all the slats are perfectly aligned. Some glue runs and spots the sander missed. Hardware has thin brass plated over steel compared to the solid brass on the Geodeteks. But sanded first with 150 and the n 220 grit sandpaper and given three coats of Cetol Marine Teak finish to protect them from weathering (lots of internet info on this product) they look much more expensive than they are to a casual observer, and they should look good and last a long time.
