This table is beautiful and seemed to be the perfect fit for our small backyard patio. My wife really wanted a picnic table that was 1) natural wood, 2) came with unattached benches, and 3) was designed for use with an umbrella. On the surface this product delivered across all three requirements.Out of the box, the table was fairly easy to assemble - if you've put together any prefab furniture before you won't be overwhelmed. The wood is handsome, a bit rough to the touch. The aluminum legs are sturdy, though don't feel particularly so.I decided to add a few coats on tung oil as I wanted to preserve the matte finish but also add some additional weather protection. The oil really brought out the patterns in the wood. The top of the table comes in two halves, which I though was odd while assembling. Apart from a couple bolts, there's really only two very thin support beams which connect the the two sides. The bolts join across the middle, though the pass unthreaded directly into the soft wood.My doubts about the table design were confirmed in a most unfortunate way. I was standing on one of the benches to adjust an overhead string of lights when my foot slipped on a wet leaf. I fell, and reached out to brace my fall by trying to grab the table. Unbelievably, the force of my wrist smashed through the table, cleaving it right in half.Thankfully I don't think I was seriously injured, and most likely am suffering a mild sprain or hyperextension in my wrist. But I still can't believe the table just gave out like this. Had my wife not been outside to witness, I would have doubted my experience.I'm a 200lb 5'11" man, so I'm no featherweight. However I can't think of any other table on earth which would collapse unde the weight and force of my wrist during a fall from about three feet off the ground. Save for maybe a WWE table...I've had my daughter's car seat on the table, along with a full spread of food and drinks for 8 people, all leaning on the table with collectively more force than I could apply while falling. The though terrifies me that it could have broken then, or at any other time.Perhaps I just miraculously managed to hit directly in a weak spot in the design. Still, I can't recommend this product. This table is beautiful but not very sturdy. The leg for both the table and benches are made of a thin metal. The table is very wobbly. It wobbles every time we sit down or touch the table. Drinks are spilling and my husband is worried the table is going to break. It is very pretty, looks great, wood is very nice color. Would definitely oil it as soon as you get it, it sucked it up. Assembly was ok but I had to disassemble and reassemble cuz it was too wobbly. Initial table the support wood was weak and broke, seller was super quick and sent a whole new table immediately! Kudos! The table has ZERO stability left to right, meaning the legs aren’t attached to the table in a meaningful way, only on the very bottom of legs, not the side of legs. So if you put ANY pressure on the legs they will snap the support wood or screws. Just sitting in one spot will be fine but move it with two people for sure even though it isn’t heavy to make sure the legs don’t get any sideways pressure.Overall great if going by looks but I wouldn’t order it again due to the design of the leg attachments.Love the set. It is assembled and impossible to return and repack. Broken, cracked and scratched wood. The cost is too high for what i received. The images do not show a corner support that is completely broken in two pieces.I would like replacement pieces sent which would be one half of the table top and one bench top. I can repair or live with the rest.Beautiful but some major issues. The table and benches are incredibly flimsy. I sealed all of the items to protect from rain and sun. I was sitting on the bench and it collapsed underneath me. I’ve had to add braces and may just have to replace some wood in general. You get what you pay for I guess. Would not recommend if you actually plan on sitting on this. This table is very well made...better than I expected because the legs are steel. It was easy to put together and it is beautiful. Great price too. 4 stars only because it was out in the rain the first week and I thought it could maybe use a better coating. It will be under cover now but I don’t know that the stain would hold up for long if it were not. Or it would need a new layer of waterproof coating pretty quickly. We love the look of this tabel and bench set, but after 3 weeks the table was already wobbly, and ine of the benches broke. The other bench is unstable as well. If it lasts 1 summer I will be shocked. You get what you pay for, and I wish I had spent more for a nicer set.The table and benches are beautiful. Beautiful color and sturdy. I’m just not sure how long it will last. It’s not very heavy, the wood is very light but I don’t think it’s bad for the price and I love that it has the option for a sunbrella.
