I had been looking for some time for a good value in an ultra quiet DC fan for a spare bedroom and saw this one. It came very quickly and the package was surprisingly small and light, in contrast to some AC fans I've installed. The big nut for any fan installation is mounting the mounting plate into the ceiling box, which fortunately for me, was anchored by a huge #12-14 screw into a ceiling beam. As I have hydronic heating in the ceiling I could not use a four bolt mount into the ceiling, but did not trust the two #8 bolts typical of ceiling light boxes. I bored out and tapped the two diagonal mounting screws for #10 stainless steel screws which held the mounting plate very firmly. I tried to hang off the plate but was not strong enough but I exerted at least 100 lbs force on it. The fan is very light, as fans go, but vibration can loosen the mounting bolts if lockwashers are not used. I found the 70 year old wires had shed some of the rubber insulation so I put two layers of electrical tape on them. The mounting plate has a convenient hook to hang the motor assembly on while attaching the two wires. The lower motor assembly went right up. The fan blades were relatively easy to mount despite a slight misalignment between the blade mounting holes and the motor plate. Interestingly the light controller and the LED light plate were held up lby magnets which cut the light mounting time to almost nothing. The light diffuser disk is very thin and fragile but was needed to allow the squeezing of the diffuser to slip it into the light housing. The fan operated immediately by remote. The LED lights are brilliant but undimmable so mood lighting is out. It does allow selection between daylight and warm lighting which helps a lot. The fan ran without any vibration eliminating the need to balance it. The 6 speeds are enough to cover all needs and, even at the highest speed, produces no motor noise and only slight air noise. Overall I am very please with the somewhat funny looking but very effective unit. I would definitely recommend this one to those looking for a modestly priced, highly functional and modern looking fan.Very happy with this fan. The airflow is 6040cfm, which is higher than any fan I could find under 60 inches. I't quiet, the remote is intuitive and I like that it uses a DC motor (which are more efficient than AC motors).THE FAN IS GREAT, but there is no dimmer for the light, only a change of color. thats a deal killer right thereInstalled in master bedroom for which the blade size is perfect. BUT I'd return it if it didn't mean uninstalling it due to:1) Gale force winds on lowest possible fan speed setting.2) The light. If the manufacturer is reading this, PLEASE consider adding a dimmer feature. A bright spotlight in my bedroom is both harsh and unpleasant.Other than those 2 pain points, the fan works very well....a little TOO well, IMO.This thing is ugly, noisy and weak. Fan only cools if you're right underneath it.This fan is a great size for my covered, outdoor porch. It's not too big for the small space, but big enough to put out enough air to make the space usable in hot weather. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the fan blades are made of hard, molded plastic instead of the press board that a lot of fan blades are made out of which makes this great for high moisture areas. I really, really wish the light was dimmable. I'm really not sure why you would make a fan like this without that option. I'm usually on the porch in the day time so it's not a huge deal, but that would really be a nice option for evenings. This fan was easy for my husband to install. It is very attractive and has a bright light. It is quiet but can move the air around. The fan was simple to install and looks great in our bedroom. In southern Florida It really gives great circulation power for our room. Our bedroom is fairly large 20×15 and this is perfect!!! Definitely recommend this fan if you are looking for multiple features, this is a great value.
