I am on my 10 purchase since 2019 and yes some have failed over time ,mostly the light will not turn off in the daylight hence the battery is drained totallyIf you intend to purchase I have some suggestions for long running lights1st get a AA battery charger2nd get some backup reachable battery's3 get some light sandpaper to clean contactsThese items will come in handy over timePlace lights in a SUNNY place to charge and don't expect the lights to stay on ALL night as they only have 1 AA batteryYes they can break if you don't take care with them ,remember they are made of plastic not forged steel and the spikes work great as long as soil is NOT loaded with rocks or hard-pan soilThese lights stay water resistant if set straight up and down and leaning one could lead to water seeping into battey area , but just pop out the battery ,replace with backup battery and clean up contacts with sandpaper and put old battery in charger Voila a now working light !!!If you a looking for a turn on and forget walkway light expect to pay at least double what Garden Bliss charges A little maintenance goes a very long wayTHATS what makes these garden lights a GREAT Value
